A Coral Sea MPA, our gift to Asian fishermen

Text copy of of a talk given on 29 April 2009 at a meeting in Cairns of about 1000 people passionately opposed to the PEW Foundation proposal to create a million Km² no take MPA in the Coral Sea. It was very well received and the reception of the representative for the Department of Environment and Heritage was notably hostile. With the unfolding economic reality starting to bite, it seems that people are finally ready to push back against the endless tide of bureaucracy and mindless environmentalism.
